About VisualSpool
VisualSpool is a 3D printer filament tracker. A place to keep track of every spool in your studio: what's on it, where it lives, and how much is left.
Why this exists
For six years I tracked my filament collection in a spreadsheet. I tried every filament tracker app and website I could find, and none of them fit the way I actually think about my spools. So I built the one I'd been wanting.
If you print a lot, your collection grows fast. Half-empty spools pile up, brand and material details get forgotten, you buy duplicates because you can't remember what you already have. VisualSpool is built around how 3D printer hobbyists actually think about their inventory: by brand and material variant, with proper color tracking, storage shelves you can drag spools between, and a history of what's happened to each spool.
What's in it
- Per-Maker catalog of brands, materials, variants, and colors, with the option to add custom filaments
- Spool inventory with weight tracking and event history
- A storage hierarchy (rooms → units → shelves) you can drag spools between
- Filtering, sorting, and search across your whole collection
- Printable shelf labels
Who's behind it
Built and maintained by an independent developer in Colorado. I've spent two decades building communities around the hobbies I love, and I'm doing the same here. VisualSpool is run small and direct: there's a real person on the other side of every message, not a support queue.
Status
VisualSpool is in early access. Things may change. If you spot a bug or have a feature idea, we'd genuinely love to hear from you. Drop us a line on the Contact page.
