Bambu Lab ASA Green Summary
This filament is tricky to print, heat-resistant and weatherproof. Worth watching: it can be a little moisture-sensitive and a bit smelly to print.
Print characteristics
Layer adhesion ExcellentBed adhesion ModerateBridging & overhang FairSpeed sensitivity HighWarping ModerateShrinkage 0.4-0.7 %Stringing LowOozing LowOdor Strong
Strengths
- Solid strength for everyday parts
- Handles heat well
- Holds up to sunlight without fading or going brittle
- Weather-resistant for long-term outdoor use
- Layers bond strongly for clean, watertight prints
- Prints clean with minimal stringing
- Good electrical insulator
- Food-safe potential with the right setup
Things to watch
- Can warp on large or sharp-cornered prints
- Picks up moisture over time, store it with desiccant
- Gives off noticeable fumes, print with ventilation or filtration
- Fussy about bed adhesion, use a brim, glue, or a textured plate
Drying
This material picks up moisture from the air over time. When it needs drying, run it at 60-70 °C for 2-4 h. Keep it in a heated dry box while printing for the cleanest results.

Specialties
UV ResistantResists degradation from sunlight exposure (UV radiation) and outdoor weather conditions. For outdoor signage, garden equipment, automotive exterior parts, or marine components.
Heat ResistantWithstands elevated temperatures (hot car, warm electronics) without deforming. Printable on standard printers. HDT ~80-120°C.
Tough / Impact ResistantEngineered to resist breaking, cracking, or shattering under impact. Unlike standard PLA, which snaps, this flexes slightly before breaking. Ideal for parts that get dropped, bumped, or stressed.
Chemical ResistantResists damage from oils, fuels, acids, industrial chemicals or solvents. For laboratory equipment, fuel system components, or chemical storage.
Vapor SmoothableReacts to chemical vapors (acetone for ABS/ASA, or other solvents) that partially melt the surface. Creates a glossy, injection-molded finish with no layer lines.
SandableEasily sanded, filed, or carved without gumming up sandpaper.
