Overture TPU Transl Blue Summary

This filament is moderately demanding to print, flexible. Worth watching: it can be moisture-sensitive and low on heat resistance.

Print characteristics

Layer adhesion ExceptionalBridging & overhang PoorSpeed sensitivity Very HighWarping NoneShrinkage 0.5-1.5 %Stringing ModerateOozing ModerateOdor None

Strengths

  • Solid strength for everyday parts
  • Wear-resistant for moving and rubbing parts
  • Flexible and rubber-like
  • Layers bond strongly for clean, watertight prints
  • Stays flat, very little warping
  • Food-safe potential with the right setup

Things to watch

  • Soaks up moisture quickly, keep it sealed and dry before printing
  • Softens in heat, not for hot cars or near heat sources
  • Shrinks as it cools, which can affect dimensional accuracy
  • Struggles with bridges and steep overhangs without supports

Drying

This material is very hygroscopic, it pulls moisture from the air quickly. When it needs drying, run it at 40-50 °C for 6-8 h. Keep it in a heated dry box while printing for the cleanest results.

Specialties

High SpeedFlows like water, cools instantly. Prints fast (200mm/s+) without clogging. Usually matte finish.
Flexible / ElasticStretches and squishes like rubber. High stretch, very soft. Returns to shape. For phone cases, gaskets, soft grips, shock absorption.
Tough / Impact ResistantEngineered to resist breaking, cracking, or shattering under impact. Unlike standard PLA, which snaps, this flexes slightly before breaking. Ideal for parts that get dropped, bumped, or stressed.
Wear ResistantResists surface wear from friction and sliding. Good for gears, bushings, conveyor parts, or any component that rubs against other surfaces.
Chemical ResistantResists damage from oils, fuels, acids, industrial chemicals or solvents. For laboratory equipment, fuel system components, or chemical storage.
Low Friction Naturally slippery surface. Low coefficient of friction. For bearings and sliding parts.
Water Resistant / HydrophobicResists absorbing water or moisture from the air. Maintains mechanical properties in humid or wet environments. For marine parts, outdoor components, or wet environment applications.
